no do not take the headers off. get under the car and reach up along the block. it may take some being that this seems to be your first shot at it. Eventually, you can get them done in about 20 minutes like me!

Take off the coil pack rail and AIR tubes and you can get to it without too much trouble. Just did it last weekend with some trouble, but its do-able. Took 5 hours. A link to the directions is in the newbie forum.

you can get all from the top except for the passenger side rear, that one I go in from the bottom, usually get it when I'm doing an oil change. Just experiment with different lenght socket wrenches and extensions till you find one that works well for you.

I'm not sure why people have so much trouble doing spark plug swaps. I can do all of mine from the top without removing anything in about 20 minutes. Taking off the passenger side coil pack will save you about 5 minutes getting to #7 and #8. It also helps to have the right tools. 5/8 spark plug socket, 3/8" ratchet, 1" extension for passenger side, 3" extension for driver side.

a plug change is so easy with my Macs. I use a stubby ratchet for the passenger side. I can do it alot faster now since I got my AIR and EGR off. The Macs are good for something!
