Default TB Stop Mod Qs...

I am looking into performing the TB stop mod and have lots of resources on procedures. I recently looked at the TPS in HPT and when I put the pedal to the floor it read 100%. I bought the car new and never touched the TB. Shouldn't it read around 85%? Isn't this why you do the mod? I have a 02 Z28. Any help on this is appreciated.

Not all cars suffer from this problem. My car only need to be modded for an extra 2%.

I thought it was all f-bodies as a way to de-tune them. Is this an inconsistency in the mold? Should I still see if I am near 4.6V at the TPS?

Modify the bump-stop for dead center blade
angle, mechanical. Use a ruler. I found it was
convenient to hog back all but the end 1/8"
of the stop-tang aggresively but leave that
end bit untouched just where it rests, then
file more judiciously on the business point
(less to cut with the flat file by hand).

It's not an intentional detune from the look of
it, just sloppy "good enough" mass manufacturing.

Speaking of which, after you get the TB right it's
check-the-cables time, to be sure that floored
= dead center open. Don't take it for granted.

If it is indeed off and needs to be openned more, will the TPS be off?

I have the same ?? Mine reads 99% but the stop has not been touched. The blade is not opening all the way, if i trim the bump stop will the car read over 100% and cause problems?

You bring up a good point...I adjusted my cables the wrong way (unknowingly) only to find out my TB was only opening 85% of the way. Fixing it made a pretty substantial difference in throttle response...
