headers solve pinging issues?
headers solve pinging issues? i am so excited about my coated Pacesetters and TSP catted Y-pipe i ordered today. John at TSP (VERY good customer service!!!) told me to wait on the Tune until i get a cam. I told him that i had some pinging issues, of course only when at WOT. he said the headers may actually clear up the pinging.
I know a tune would def. clear it up, but if i can save a few bucks and this will solve the problem then its all good up in da hood!!
so feel free guys to chime in w/ comments. BTW i have an A4 w/ stall

That' s funny, because I noticed, after installing my MACs, my ping problem went away. I did not notice any change, in the Diablosport tunes, as far as spark timing went, so I simply assumed, for whatever reason, the headers helped. I was just thinking about this earlier in the week. Weird...
What jimmyblue said, they may make you run a little rich. This could help pinging, but a real tune would be better. Are you actually monitoring spark advance, or are you just going by ear?
