Summit 160* or hypertech 160*
When I looked up LS1 thermostats on Summit's site, I only came up Hypertech and SLP 160s, but no Summit Brand. I would guess that the $10 thermostat is a standard Small Block thermostat. For LS-x based applications, the thermostat is an integral part of the housing, which is why the prices are so different.
I have the Hypertech 160 in stock, and I will make everyone a deal that needs one. Until Friday at 6:30pm I will sell it for $54.99 and take care of the freight!! Email, pm or call me & I will get one on the road to ya!!

why not mod your stock one to open at a lower temp, All you need is a shim under the pushrod that opens the valve.

dont think of internal parts of the motor, lol. Im totally talking about the thermo... Once you that the thermo apart there is wax inside it, once it starts to heat up it expands and the rod its attached to pushes aginst the housing. If you make a spacer to fit into the housing, the opening point of the thermo will be sooner hence a lower temp.

You guys should know you can walk right into any parts store (Pep Boys, Advanced, etc) and get this thermostat for WAY cheaper than what everyone sells them for. They are all made by Motorad.
