Air Conditioner Line Leaking
Anyway I just installed cam and ended knocking one of the AC lines pretty hard.
The line that is leaking is on the passenger side of the condensor near the battery (the top line). The line itself is NOT broken or bent. If you take the bolt out of what I'm going to call a "coupler" there is a tube that goes down inside the condensor. The bolt I am referring to is black and sits on the side of the condensor. Around this tube there is an O ring. Do you think the O ring is causing the leak? I took the tube out inspected and cleaned the o ring but it still leaks.
Any info would BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. It is
hot
as ****. and having a black car with T-tops and leather makes it ten times worse. So you've already purged the system and recharged it? So you are familiar with doing that?
Are you sure there is a leak in the system? When you charge it, how long does it take before the low pressure switch turns off the compressor? A day, few days?
If it is leaking faster than that, you can take some soapy water in a squirt bottle and spray down the connectors. If you already have an empty sytem you can replace all the o-rings with new ones. Make sure and get the old ones out. Then make sure all the lines are tight.
There is some UV freon you can use to charge the system that is supposed to glow under a black light.
Are all the wires connected, like on the pressure switches and on the compressor? Maybe one got knocked off during the install.
