Need to replace alternator, any suggestions?

Should I just buy a replacement from Autozone, a higher amperage unit, or what? My regulator is going bad, and also if you turn the alternator by hand, you can hear a scraping noise as it gets to one certain point every time it turns. Stock alternator, never been off the car, but after 115k miles it's had enough. Thanks for any help.

If the stock one has died then why not go with more amps!!?? It would kinda be a waist if you bought the stock unit again when most of the upgrades are around the same price!

Wow atleast you got 115k out of it. Mine went out on me at 40k. Anyway I got a replacement at autozone, it was like 100 bucks I think. I have not had any other problems with it since. So just go with a new stock one.
