do i need to reinstal this..

first of all do i need to reinstall that brace looking thing that holds the y-pipe up where it connects to the catback?(not the hanger). and last, how far shouldmy y-pipe be slid onto my header flange? ive got it on their about 1 1/2" rite now, it that good enuff?

You should reinstall the "brace-looking thing"...that is the tunnel support brace...it adds rigidity (albeit, probably not much with the stock piece) to the transmission tunnel...

or do i need to put it over the exhaust pipe?

Ok...I did a search and read some old threads...it appears that folks that can't make it fit are just leaving it off...how close is it? If it's close, you could shim it with washers or bend it slightly to make it fit. IMO, if I could find a way to make it fit without killing myself, I would do it...every little bit of support helps...

its about 2" away, thanks for lookin a serch up for me but i think ima just take it to tha shop with me and see if they can get it on when they welf up my y-pipe.
