Default Anybody Running Headman Headers?

I just ordered a set of Hedman Headers for my 98 Z, anybody running them, or know of anybody running them? If so how are they?

There is a discrepancy about the primaries. The info on most websites that sell em is wrong. What I read from folks who actually had them, the primaries are 1 and 5/8's stepped to 1 and 3/4's. This might not be too bad for a stock motor. Personally, I'd rather go with something that has been relatively successful like the pacesetters (or qtp/kooks if you got $) than take a chance on something thats not quite as popular.

Thanks for the input guys.

I talked with a few engine builders around here, and they actually reccomend stepped headers, If you can swing the cost since most are custom jobs.

Stepped headers are usually a good thing. Most guys who are going all out on stepped headers are running bigger cams and ported heads (or plan on it) so the Hedmans are too small. On a stock motor the 1-5/8 to 1-3/4 may give a little bit extra under the curve but its probably not a big deal and straight 1-3/4 are more common anyway. Most people look at the 1-3/4 as the minimum for making power and many go for the 1-3/4 stepped to 1-7/8. Some go straight 1-7/8. Some step from 1-7/8 to 2 inches. And SOME even go straight 2 inch primaries. I think theres some info on picking the right one in one of the stickies on this forum.

The most common sizes are the 1-3/4 (almost every manufacturer makes these)
then 1-3/4 stepped to 1-7/8 are popular from QTP and Edelbrock and maybe Kooks
then 1-7/8 and anything bigger probably only comes from QTP and kooks
