Default Lid question? Already searched!

I have a '00 SS. Is the bottom piece that holds the lid suposed to sit up higher than the z28 piece. I know the ws6 ones do, but do the SS ones also. I bought the car used, and want to know if the piece I have is the right one. I can barely get my fingers under it. If someone could post a pic of the front of their SS lid, it would be a big help.
Thanks

Also, is it worth doing the ftra or fra mod on an SS?

I've had an SS and now a Z and both are the same as far as I can tell. The Ws-6 hood allows for a taller opening.

Thanks, thats what I needed to konw. A friend of mine told me he thought it should be taller, but was basing that on the ws6 cars.

What is the consensus on the ftra or fra mods for the SS? Worth it or not?

I have the FRA mod and it is definitely worth it since all you need is a tool to cut some plastic.

I understand the cost vs. gain, but will I gain anything, or am I getting enough with the SS hood already?

The SS hood doesn't act as a straight direct ram induction into the engine. It just allows air into the engine bay to cool it down and personally I believe that all it's function is for looks. For gains you definitely see gains by adding a ram air mod whether it's free or not. FRA is considered one the most useful out all the free mods.
