Hanging exhaust I am trying to install the Magnaflow 3" catback for a 93-97 LT1 on my V6. Yes, I am aware that I purchased an exhaust kit for an engine size different than my own but that is because my Y-pipe has a 3" collector and all V6 catback systems that I've seen have 2.5" piping at best and I wanted a full 3" setup.
My Camaro at the rear has pin style hangers welded to the pipes, but the Magnaflow system has flat strips of metal with holes drilled in them. I am curious to know if the Z28/SS exhaust hangers differ from the V6 hangers, or if they are also pin style like mine and the adaptation to make them work is not discussed in the writeups. I also visited Magnaflow's website and found the install article for the system but of course the hangers never made it into the picture.
I know that I don't HAVE to use the Magnaflow hangers but I'm wondering if anyone has and how they did it. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.
