Hooker Header Install Problems
this thread isn't to put down hooker, but i'm a newbie
i cannot get these damned headers CLOSE to going on
i am hitting the drivers side one, on this little piece right above the oil filter, its held on with 2 bolts. i didn't undo it b/c i didn't know if it'd spill oil everywhere.
i don't think i'm hittin on the K member
passenger side, i can't even get it started. i don't think i have the car high enough, but my jack doesn't go any higher. how high did you guys have your car, and where did you measure from.
i'm so angry, i don't know what to do with these things
anybody in the northern ohio area who has put on LT's, whose willing to help a fellow member out?

i was going to reuse the stock gaskets like everyone says, but the gaskets that came with mine are steel in the middle with a pretty thick materal on both sides of it. they aren't the crappy paper ones.
and they are thicker than the stockers so, i'm thinking about using those.....any big problems? i mean they aren't the cheapos
for ~$800 headers they better have not given me the paper ones lol
yeah i talked to a buddy and he gave me some pointers with everything else
i still dunno about the gaskets. these seem pretty beefy.
if they do blow out, shouldn't be that hard to change right? i mean i just unbolt and rebolt?

they went pretty easily after moving the trans around
Until...........I broke a freaking head of my Stage 8 header bolt!! its the center ones, the 3rd one in from the nose. I got so pissed i left. I didn't even tighten the rest down.
the thing wasn't even all the way in, it was cross threaded i think. something was messed up...long story, but yeah its broken
i guess i'm just going to leave it alone, hopefully it wont leak
if it does, then i'll deal with it this winter lol
other than take off the header, (ugh) and see if i can use plyers to work it out, then i'd have to someone get a tap lined up straight enough and run a bigger bolt
no way i'm taking that head off yet
