I was thinking about going with the borla catback and an ORY as well, but from what I learned its going to be loud and very raspy. A catted y will quite it down and get rid of some rasp. You also get those plates with the system so that will help control the sound level as well. My best advice for you would be to search this forum (lots of good info about this) and listen to as many sound clips as possible (ls1sounds.com). If you can handle the sound go with an ORY.

I personally think a Borla cat-back sounds pretty good behind stock manifolds & cats...But sounds like crap with LT headers (cats or not). Without the cats, holy heck is that rasp city...Almost sounds like "rice" in the mid rpms this way...
It's your car, but I'd either switch to a different cat-back (Hooker, SLP Dual/Dual, etc.) or run true duals when you do headers without cats...
