How hard is water pump replaement in LS-1?

Getting a puddle under car when it sits after a ride. Jacked it up and appears to be coming off the bottom of water pump area. Also wet on bottom of themostat area but doubt that is problem.

How hard is a water pump replacement on an 00" WS6?

Water pump is pretty easy on a scale 1-10 it is 5. I would check the throttle body coolant lines for leaks.

It's very easy to do. Just unbolt your induction (from the throttle body to the lid), take off the accessory belt (15mm socket), and unbolt the six 13mm bolts that hold the water pump to the block. Then put everything back on in the reverse order and you're done.

You dont even have to drain the radiator or remove the fans. Just take off the lid, bellow, maf, throttle body, remove the belt and all the coolant lines and then remove the idler pulley from the water pump and then unbolt the pump itself. It is definately EASY! I just did mine about a month ago in about an hour..

Make sure the seal surface (on the block) is perfect before installing the new one. You will not have problems if so. Good opertunity to change belts if needed also.
