your best bet is a cutout (as long as you keep stock cats, manifolds). very, very deep, no rasp b/c of the cats, and very cheap ($150 tops for parts/labor). it sounds really good at idle and WOT, plus if you need to be quiet, just shift below 2k and it won't be very loud as far as what cops are looking for. you can also cap it again manually in about a minute if you need to go get emissions tested. can't beat it man. check it out. http://www.ls1speed.com/catagory.cfm?catagory=Exhaust

from what i know on the loudmouth and stuff they sound really great on stock motors but the more in depth with mods and stuff you go with the more ppl complain about resonance inside the cabin and the presence of a drone at highway speeds cause the system is pretty much straight through..to solve that problem you could always convert it into a borlamouth

after getting the piece in the mail, just take it and your car to a muffler shop and have them weld it in, it'll cost around $75 and then your exhaust is dumped before the muffler and can be swapped back to stock (basically) if you want to do that. i have yet to put the cap back on after 6 months with it off. sounds awesome.

A name brand would be Flowtech available from most of the site's sponsers...
But a good muffler shop should be able to fab one up for you...Also look into the electric cutout by QTP (also available form most of the vendors listed to the right)...It will allow you to open or close the cutout from the inside of the car without ever having to have to go under the car to cap it or un-cap it...
Best of all,if you don't like it or get tired of having it loud, just cap it...and like that you are back to stock sound levels...

I put the SLP Loud Mouth Exhaust on my 2000 Trans Am just a few months ago and it sounds great. I think its one of the best exhaust for its money. Its not to expensive and it souds awsome.
