broken mount just means the engine would shake a lot at idle and if you revved it up it would go to one side quite a bit.

No vibration through the steering wheel and throughout the car at speed?? Just trying to rule out what my problem may be.

When you rev the car, the engine falls out.

Mainly at idle it will vibrate, mine did not do it through the steering wheel. I have an M6, and noticed it through the shifter alot.

You shouldn't notice it through the steering wheel, but should notice it through the shifter.

Would a bad mount allow the engine to shake side to side at idle?

Where do you locate the mounts for an inspection, and how would they look if they're bad?
