Default header install question?!?!?!?

HOW DO YOU GET THE DIPSTICK OUT???

okay got the drivers side header in (jet hot LT's) and now I can't even get the stock exhaust manifold off!!! What did you guys use to get it off because I can't fit a socket wrench on 3 of the 6 bolts!! any links to an install page would be wonderful as well...... anything else I have to take out on the passenger side?

On mine we removed the EGR (put it on after), the whole girdle of coil packs, the dipstick, and moved around some other ****.

Get the car up AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE, makes things alot easier

Yank it. The only thing holding it in the block now is a small rubber o-ring. Quit being a panzy!

. Once that bolt is removed just pull it out. Putting it back in though is a different story. A friend will come in handy .

This is the only link on header installs I could find without using the dreaded search feature of this board. Just kidding about the above pansy remark. Take your time and don't force anything, you'll figure it out.

yea, pull off the egr and air ****, there are either one or 2 bolts for the dipstick, remove the coil packs, be sure to spray the header bolts with penetrating oil and let them sit, i let mine go over night, get the car as high as u can, and get er done

And by all means, disconnect the freaking battery. I can't believe the amount of people that fail to do that and short something out and come on here and cry about it.

Let me tell ya something funny. After I installed my headers on my Z I was soo stoked that I forgot to reinstall the dip stick. took it on a drive and seen a puff of smoke everytime I floored it took it home took a look and I could not figure it out grab my smokes on my tool box and grabed the dip stick instead. That there is the stupidest thing that I have ever done. lol
