Default !Muffler?

Ok so the end of my exhaust is dumped and it's setup like this: Stock catted y flowing into the I pipe and then into a straight muffler and then immediately dumped. It's dumped about 3ft. before the axle. Was wondering if I take that muffler off and replace it with a piece of piping will I get any gains out of it? So it would basically be a dumped I pipe.....and will doing this hurt my car at all?

Probably get some small gains. I ran my car for about 2 months with nothing past the stock y-pipe and didn't hurt anything other then it turned the bottom of my car black.

you'll feel a little gain, may people run cut-outs so they can cap it and run it through the muffler if they want, i'd do that, but it wont hurt anything if you chop off the muffler.

you already ahve a straight through muffler? if you do.i don't see any gains...unless the muffler is smaller diameter than the exhaust piping.

I kinda did something similar and just cut my stock muffler out and made a y to get the 2 tips back out. Mine sounded like ****, it was loud, but a shitty loud, popped and carried on when you revved it up or let off the throttle in gear going down the road. Yours might not be that bad, but I just did'nt like the way it sounded with no muffler at all.

ya that's exactly what I was thinking....right, no I was just wondering if it would be any louder than it is now w/ the muffler.....close to something like a cutout
