Why do you need to change the MAF? What are you trying to do? Can you give us a little more information?

Thanks

Replace it with a stock MAF, unless you want the joys of tuning it.

Two best things you can do with a MAF, keep it stock, or get rid of it.

Well my MAF litteraly cuts in and out. So i was just gonna buy another oem one but since i am having it retuned next week, i figure that maybe i should get an aftermarket one. The shop that will be tuning the car said to get the SLP one. What different when it comes to tuning?

if you are going to run the MAF, go with an OEM like in kind replacement.

The SLP MAF is not worth the money for the gains IMHO

So i should just buy another stock one? It would have to be new cuz i dont wanna put used stuff on my car. slp's is $160 and the dealer wants $270 for a stock one. If the stock one is better, i dont mind spending the money.

When I bolted up my SLP MAF, I lost power... It's a hit or miss with them, but you CAN'T go wrong with a stock unit. Get the stock unit, not only for ease of tuning but for peace of mind.

For the cost of a new one, you might want to check Ebay. Apples to Oranges, but I picked up a stock screened 85mm unit for $23 shipped. Only had 30k miles on it

It would be surprising to me that the MAF itself is
cutting out. That sounds more like a wiring problem,
intermittent connection etc. Seen one or two folks
report bent or pushed back pins in the connector.
Though if the MAF were messed with the chance
of an internal electrical problem goes up (little
sense resistor connections are flimsy, etc.).

But inspecting the wiring is a freebie and if it's
the problem, then a new MAF (of any sort)
would not solve it.

You might try www.not-a-sponsor.com they are ususally cheaper than the dealer.

SDPC usually will meet or beat those prices. Not to mention shipping time

I have the SLP 85mm MAF, and have never had a problem with tuning. In fact, the out of the box DiabloSport Predator tune worked great with it too. I can't say exactly how much hp I gained, I just wanted to be able to support 500-600 fwhp down the road.

I've read the stock MAF will support up to 500 hp. Anybody know if there is any truth to that?
