Default AMW catch can users in here... I have a Q?

I bought an AMW catch can from a fellow board member with all of the hardware, but without the hoses. Could someonle look at their setup and see if there are any markings on the hoses that indicate the diameter so that I can go and get about 2 feet of hose? Thanks in advance.

Take the can with you to the auto parts store....easiest method I used fuel line hose, 3/8" diameter I think. Not 100% sure.

I'm looking at the hose right now...it is, in fact, 3/8"

Go buy some 3/8" ID hose from your local hardware store (I get mine from Broadway Hardware). I used heater hose and it's been holding up just fine.

Expensive *** cans. How can they justify these things doubling in price in a 2 month period. That's freaking nuts! I hope you got a good deal on a used one. Here's a pic from the GP link showing the hoses. They are correct, 3/8" is what you want.

True...if you've ever handled one of these cans, you'll understand just how much machine work goes into making them and how high the quality is...that being said, I'm soooo glad I bought one when they first came out.

that's what I always heard. They said that they (AMW) were making very little money off of them when they were about 90 dlls. With gasoline being so expensive; of course the price of these had to go up. I got lucky and only payed 90 dlls for a used one with the Dark Age aluminum mounting bracket. Thanks again for the hose size to all who replied.

Yeah, Aluminum has gone up. Demand for the product has gone up and they're having to dedicate more man hours to keeping up with that demand.

Holy crap, I had no idea they went up this much. I'm glad I got in on a gp for 85 shipped when they first came out.

I love my AMW can setup. I agree they were worth it at ~$80-90. I could even see an increase to say $100 to $110. But the "new" price of $160, in my opinion is a bit out of line.

Wow, that is a huge jump. I didn't mind ~$90 for mine with the bracket. It is a nice piece for sure and works great. But if it was $160, I'd see what other options were out there (I know Greddy has one) or just rig something up with a can and fuel filter.

A small air compressor water catch is a lot cheaper.
