If you go true duals, go with sweet thunders, especially if you are getting a cam. Sounds mean as ****.

There are a few i see passing by but dont no the drivers. I am pretty set on getting duals out the back and use my borla tips. Sweet thunders or bullets?

You can research muffler choices all day. For the best sound go with Sweet thunder. For the best flow (won't need that much flow for a naturally aspirated, stock cube) go with bullets or a bullet type muffler such as borla XR-1, etc.

From what you are saying that you want, this would make you happy, and if you feel its too much later, use some sound deadening in the interior as a later project. You can easily change the mufflers later also if you tire of them. Ive had bullets awhile and im not at all tired of them.

BTW: Not only do I daily drive my 4k stalled, MS3 powered LS1 but I also ripped out all of the insulation/sound deadening material that was beneath the carpet.

Edit: yes, that is with duals, dynomax bullets and dumps.

HAHA, dang so you like it loud huh? You have True duals with bullets right, and a nice cam? Is your true duals dumped or taken back to bumper? I am hopefully ordering my pacesetter LTs and x pipe true duals with bullets or sweet thunders round November and my stall and shift kit w/ cooler round first of the year.Once those go in i am looking for a good H/C set up. Check out my other thread. you have posted in there a few times. Got any suggestions on a nice H/C set up for me? Or a link to a place that can basically help me pick. All i am finding is what parts of the heads and cams do, not which one is perfect for my needs. Thanks

I just helped a buddy install pacesetter longtubes and then had a shop fab up some piping to complete his true duals/X-pipe setup. He used some flowmaster bullet style mufflers, and turned them towards eachother at a slight angle, supposed to help with drone. I was VERY surprised at how quiet it was compared to what I was expecting. I actually find it no louder than my setup. We did some 70-75 to 130 roll races and he could hear my car over his, I was in front BTW

I would honestly have to say that until I drove his, set behind both of them and listened to them being revved up I don't know which is louder. Maybe it's the mufflers that he is using that tamed it down a few notches.

I agree that TA's don't look right without something to fill in the rear valance. This is one reason I didn't go with true duals. Good luck in your decision.
