Default Diff. between LS1 & LS6 intake manifold?

I'm a newbie here and I was just wondering what the differences were between the two manifolds, and if its just a larger diameter in the entry of the manifold, could it just be ported along with the throttle body.

Porting not the issue, the runner's are slightly different. I gain a solid 10th.

increased plenum volume and removed dead pockets of air in parts of the runners. the ls6 intake is superior to the ls1 intake with all the flow testing i've had done on both of mine.
