Well, I got my hands on an LS6 Intake. I need to know how long it should take to swap. My LS1 intake is going on a 01 Z and his LS6 intake is going on my 99 Z. It's his exwifes car so he is doing it to get back at her. I know I need the front coolant pipe and two coolant plugs. what all am i missing. I need all the info posible thank you.

You will need to block off the egr on the pass side EX-manifold and delete the egr from your computer. When I swaped mine it took about 2hr. Watch the oil press sending unit when pulling the intake forward.

I helped a friend do his - neither one of us had done it before - took about 2 hours using the ls1howto site. Can't you just swap the coolant pipes from car to car too?

U can get the cooling lines from GM i think i paid under 30 bucks for them. Also u might be able to get the plugs from them too. Thats a good question cant u just swap coolant lines from each car.

Been thinking about my earlier post - think you should just get the new pipe/plugs - don't want to take a chance on having to pull the intake again.

The LS6 (and LS1 actually) IM gaskets are incorporated into the bottom of the intake. Nothing to change.

not-a-sponsor.com has the coolant pipe and the plugs. It will take about a week to get to you if you order from them but here are the part numbers if you order there or anywhere else:

1 Coolant pipe - 12581213
2 Coolant plugs - 12570678

Or, you can order it from SDPC and have it in a couple days
