throttle body or longtube headers
hello fellow ls1ers, im in the market for my next mod (arnt we all) and thought i should go with a new 85mm throttle body before i get my long tube headers does anyone think i should do the reverse and go with headers first, or whats best,,,,,p.s. just smoked an 03 cobra from dead stop last night (very young driver ,too much power not enough experience) ....03 cobra 30000$+, sideways yankee cap and gold chain 300$, look on the face when a almost stock SS keeps pulling priceless hahahah

I would keep the stock TB for now, or port it. Go with the LT first for sure. Are you planning on making lots of power later on? H/C or more cubes etc? If so, maybe save up for a FAST 90/90 setup for your intake or such
Don't forget about that drivetrain and suspension though

I'd leave the throttle body alone for now. You can actually lose power with a bigger throttle body unless you have a performance heads/cam/intake setup. Get the headers but do not get a pacesetter or tsp ory.

You can have both if you wanna just get yours ported. CamminBeast, a member on this board, does great work for like $75 bucks.

QUOTE:yeah i know now that i shouldnt have went with the "slowmaster" exhaust gonna go with a gmmg chambered exhaust later onand i meant 80mm bbk tb not 85 my bad
I wouldn't personally do an 80mm either. The stock intake port is only 75 mm, so going with an 80mm you will still be making a lip that will cause turbulance. You are better off with a ported stocker untill you go with a bigger intake. You could do LT's and port your TB yourself for free.

The stock headers are a restriction.
I ported/epoxied my TB a couple years ago. Just takes time and patience.
