My experience with dealerships is they're out to make $$. I personally think the dealer screwed up the install.
One point in the dealer's favor. Provided the car is naturally aspirated (ie no nitrous), iridium plugs will last longer, thus in a way better. Regular TR55's should be changed every 30K miles like any conventional plug, while the iridiums are good for 50K+. On an LT1 this is a factor to plug selection (ever changed plugs on a F'n LT1?......pure hell, I must say!) But for an LS1...this should not be a factor. An amateur with a computer (to access installuniversity.com or LS1howto.com), a ratchet, a spark plug socket, 2 extensions, and a dogbone can change all eight plugs in under 90 minutes!

Based of what I have read and learned. irdiums and platinum are fine if you wanna a stock plug. To get a more aggressive tune Ive been told the copper plugs give you that option then Iridiums or Platinum. If you do the plat or Iridium plug go a tad cooler.
My current set up is at 26 degree at WOT A/F of 12.8-13 ish

I'm one of the few that has had bad luck with NGK's. Car developed multiple misfires after only 2-3000 miles on the NGK's. Looked for all other causes and finally just swapped out the three plugs on the cylinders with a high amount of misfires and that cured it. Pulled all of the NGK's and went with Delco Iridiums. Never had a problem since.

I haven't read every reply, but want to say that NGK plugs do not suck. OK, if you're someone who has a garage change plugs, then use what you're comfortable with. A flat statement claiming that NGK plugs suck when so many of us, especially racers, have had great success w/ them is just not a correct statement. It is possible for every manufacturer to have issues from time to time & am sure that NGK is no exception.
If it were me, I'd have a close look @ the PCM &/or all of the ignition circuits before blaming it on a plug. Perhaps the plugs that were used are simply hiding an ignition problem better than the NGK plug could.

^ QFT.. Very good way to put it..
I've been running NGK Tr55's since about 2004. Drove the car across the country and trailered it back. I put about 30k miles on those plugs and put about another 10k on this set I have now. I've never had a problem.
I've had more of a problem with Bosch Platnums in my last car. THOSE are junk.

i run ngk's in everything and haven't had a problem. that's what i recommend at work(autozone) to most everybody. even ngk platinums are usually just over 3 bucks. the only plug i've ever heard people have serious issues on and will never run is a bosch. i've heard a few people say they've broken and fallen into the cylinder. one guy with a ford, don't remember what model, had the whole center of a bosch plug break and fall into the cylinder and caused some major damage. of course you can get a bad part with any brand, but being that bosch is the only brand i've heard of this type of thing happening makes me stay away from them and not recommend them.
and with the trans mount. just get a poly one and be done with it. they transfer a LITTLE more vibration, but they'll last much longer than a rubber one. i'd do the same for the motor mounts but only if you were doing other work, like swapping headers where they'd be easy to do before i'd swap them out.

I run TR55's and they work fine. Maybe your car just doesn't like them or maybe they were gapped wrong. I know that I had to fix the gap on mine out of the box. If your car is running good thats good news and all that matters.

yup most older gen3 engines came with delco/ngk factory it says it on the plug similar to the one above,
i think the original poster got a wack *** install and they dropped them, or cracked them porbably installing them with an air ratchet,
