REALLY quiet muffler?
REALLY quiet muffler? I would like to see what mufflers, especially bullet type mufflers, people are running that are quiet. Perhaps if anyone runs a bullet muffler with some sort of Dynomax cone type silencer or another brand insert. Muffler does not have to be a bullet type, but clearance is obviously an issue.
I want to change out the true dual set up I have now and run mufflers right off of the collectors. I was thinking about running two 3" cut-outs directly after the header collector, then add a couple mufflers to the back of the cut outs.
My only concern is to quiet the car down for the very occational street driving it will see. I am not too concerned about restriction in the muffler because the cut-outs would be open at the track.
Please share any experience you may have.

But where to find the space for mufflers. If mainly a track car I would consider either oval or round Borla XR1'S. For the limited space (thinking you're going to dump from headers/mufflers) they are the quietest I've heard, but still straight-through mufflers. They are kind of pricey. I've had a Borla XR1 3" in/out for 80K miles with -stock- headers and it's served me well. Will see how it is with my header install this week, hopefully.
