muffler delete
for those who have done this, I plan in getting my muffler deleted and just having two outlets out the back... via one of those $15 tubes that goes in place. I moving to shed weight right now.
How loud is it compared to a cutout? I'd imagine since the exhaust is directed out the back end there's far less rattling and drone than your standard cutout. My car is still on stock manifolds and pipe, and I dont plan on changing that anytime soon.

My car is setup exactly like what you want to do. IMO it sounds awesome if you can stand the rattling from the dash. It is not that loud at idle and driving but at WOT it sounds wicked. I would definetly recommend it. I've been told Sub frame connectors should fix the rattles.

I had a Magnaflow that the previous owner put on there. Nice sound, but way too quiet.
Then I had a cutout installed with an electric plate. REALLY LOUD(as loud as you are going to get with cats), sounded awesome. Very annoying on the highway too, but the electric plate took care of that until it broke. Also caused a lot of rattles inside the car.
So I had the cutout sawed off and a straight pipe welded in. Then I had my muffler cut off at the axle. The guy at the muffler shop then welded on a straight piece of pipe that dumps at the rear bumper. Still really loud, but not quite as loud or good sounding as the cutout. The drone on the highway is a lot more managable now though.

i think it sounds like ***. my friend has longtubes and O/R y and exhaust out the back with no muffler. Raspy as hell. I told him he needs to put a muffler on it. To each their own though.

Ya I think the difference in sound really matters on whether you have cats on or not. ORY's seem to always be raspy in some way. Cats cut that out. I'm prob. gona be deleting my muffler soon and am curious on input on how it sound as mines dumped before the axle w/ muffler for right now.
