I will have to take a look under my car again and check for space. It sounds like the Borla is a good muffler, I checked Summit and they want close to $200 just for the muffler, does that sound right

Anyway, have you looked at the Dynomax Ultra Flo mufflers? I don't know if they make one for our cars specifically, but I've had one before and it was pretty darn quiet, & rated at a high flow.

I'd put a stock muffler in there if you think Hooker with cat's is loud. I'm currently running LT's, ORY, and then a dump absolutly nothing to restrict the flow or quite the exhaust.

Could he have a shop make a custon true dual set-up with an x-pipe and run like 4 cats, similar to some of the stock mustang set-ups and then put dual borla bullet mufflers? Im sure that would quiet everything down with the additional cats and the true dual system, even with the 4 cats, shouldnt cause him to lose too much power. Just a suggestion, could be completely wrong. Anyone who knows feel free to chime in.

Take it too a muffler shop and have them put on 2 resinators...somewhere on the Y-Pipe on both sides. I had a flowmaster with the same problem...loud as crap, especially at certain RPM's...like driving on the friken highway, it just screamed!! It was cool at first but then got annoying as hell. I put a resinator on it off a Ford Diesel truck...it quieted that thing that very well. When you got on it, it still sounded very aggresive...but when you're just cruising along, no rasping or droning...fixed my problem. And, they're strait through pipes so they don't restrict the flow. Either than, or get some resinating exhaust pipe tips...they sell them at Auto Zone for 12 bucks.
