wiring cutout
i'm installin a e-cutout and i wanted to wire it into the ashtray light. the light has a grey(hot) and black(ground i guess) wires. is it ok if i wire the cutout wires directly to both of them? i looked to see were i could mount the ground to the chassie but wasent sure were to put it. thanks

You might be able to but i would wire the ground to the chassie, because i have had times were the gauge of wire isnt big enough to handle the excese amount of current you are going to put threw it and will heat up and melt. As for the power wire you might be ok im not sure. But again i would just wire that to a hot when the ign is on in the fuse panel and put another (properly sized) fuse on the wire as precation to protect the circiut. Thats just me thow. You probbibly could get away with just tieing it in. Just my opinion on how i would do it. Might be a little overkill
