Should the metal boot protectors and springs be used on MSD wires also?

same here (MSD's) with long tubes and no problems. Leave em off.
Wires don't even come close to touching the header tubes.

I bought some metal boot connectors from the junkyard. They were off a truck and the diameter of the connectors is more than the factory connectors. They fit well.

You can trim a little rubber off the boot to get them to fit the factory connectors.
