Ticking under accel????

Ticking under accel???? when i drive my car now (not very often because of gas prices) i notice a ticking sound whenever i hit the gas. do you think that this could be an exhaust leak or maybe it just needs to be tuned?
Could be an exhaust leak or it could be your AIR check valve. Try to get down in there and see. Or, if you have some time and are willing, remove the AIR system and see if it goes away. My bet is that it's AIR.
Then that leaves exhaust leak. If it was tuning, the only ticking-type sound would be pinging. Or maybe you just developed some good old piston slap... but I doubt it's that.

Have you checked the oil? Maybe it's low, causing some extra valvetrain noise. Could also be an exhaust leak somewhere. Ticking can be so many things, anything from exhaust leak to valvetrain issues to noisey injectors to normal exhaust noise that you just aren't used to since you don't drive the car much now.
