Not to hijack; this is actually related. How imortant is the use of such an expensive TB? I have the Fast 90 on my C6 and would do it again even if the manifold was 300 more. It's that good but I use the stock 90 tb. Any one know what kind of difference there is in just the vette's 90 for the NW?

Even seat of the pants opinions are welcome.

BTW, my vote is for the FAST 90/90. I have rarely bolted on a single mod and felt anything that made me say...that is so obvious a difference as that manifold was.

If you're not planning further mods, the LS6 can be sold to get all your money back anyway if you do go that route.

It is definitely a lot of cash for the 90mm setup.

LSX 90mm Intake $875.00
NW 90mm TB $420.00
SLP 85mm MAF $180.00
TSP 85mm Lid $120.00
Total $1,595.00

Of course, that is all retail and can be had a little cheaper.

About the same price if someone went with Kooks LT's, ORY and a GMMG cat-back. Power gains aren't that far apart and people complain about the price of the 90/90. I mean granted, I wish the 90/90 setup was cheaper, but when people say the 90/90 is not a good HP for the dollar mod...they should stop and think about what some people spend on a "full" exhaust setup which makes a little more HP than a 90/90 setup for around the same price.

MAF and lid can be added to the cost of any manifold upgrade and those prices are unrealistic. I have mine on a C6 which had a 90mm TB and the manifold was $760 shipped....for me a no-brainer. The difference even with my stock 90mm TB was just about the same as my kooks headers.

As for the manifold for any f-body, the 78mm version would cost $680 and no other costs involved. $1600 is just someone looking for an excuse not to get it. Don't then.

What I find funny is the number of people that drop a grand on an exhaust that does near nothing for HP and some of these same people are the ones that say the FAST isnt worth it.

That's what I've been saying.

By next fall, I hope to have my 90/90 setup.

Haha True, but the fast 90/90 doesnt make the car sound like a full exhaust set-up does! I think the fast setup is def worth it, but I think it should be one of the last mods done, with exhaust, cam, and heads being the first three. Thats just my opinion though, whether the fast 90/90 be first or last its still a great power modification.

the most hp gained to dollars spent would probably have to be a cam IMO..

something to keep in mind is that people also do exhaust for the sound... so not only is it cheaper, and gains more hp it gives them a desirable sound.

Very true. Also, people get full exhausts because the flow is much better than stock, not just sound. Same is true with a 90/90...the flow of air with this setup is much better than stock. The more air you get in and out of the engine, the better your car will run.

if youve got the money, then go for the FAST of course, also if you plan to do any major nitrous setups, that FAST intake will save you a lot of time with the install.... or so ive heard.

You would think I would learn. Get the best the first time around. I settled for Hooker LT's and a Midwest TC. Both failed and I ended up getting what I wanted the first time.....QTP and Yank. Looks like I might as well get the LSX 90mm and be done with it. I am sure heads will be in the future, if not a 400+ CI Motor.

I guess it is also a matter of what car you are talking about; the C6 vette isnt going to get more than 5hp from a catback and I DONT want it louder than the cam and headers made it.

I am one of those guys that will get every part that will make my car faster within reason....1k for an exhaust for 5hp isnt worth the noise to me. I would pay money to make it quieter. I dont need it to sound fast, I just want it to be fast.

To me the manifold was a necessary mod along with headers, cam, UD, alum. flywheel/clutch, airbox, heads, tuning, gears.....N2O.

Who needs a stinkin warranty...mine was violated 3 days after getting this car.
