Default Catch Can Options?

Has anyone used one of these catch cans off of E-bay? They look fairly decent and are priced right. I don't want to post a link so do a search on ebay and they will come up.

No.I used a Campbell-Hausfield moisture trap for an air line. Wally world has the small ones, Lowes has bigger ones. I did not do the E bay search, but anything functional under $50 works for me.
Best,
Gerald

I have this one.

I bought mine about 2 years ago and they weren't this expensive. I think I paid $60. It works great though.

I also have the AMW catch can and love it. Extremely well made product with a very easy install on my 01 with the optional bracket.

i think a $160 for an empty alluminum can is a little pricey, maybe if it was full of beer.

I paid a lil over 100 bux with shipping for my anodized one. $160.00 aint worth it to me, and I't still might not work in stopping oil consumtion into your intake, All you People are better off experamenting with a homemade PVC catchcan from home depot first IMO. ether way, I had to resort to valve cover breathers because oil vapors still got through my AMW catchcan. BTW, my intake is clean enough to eat off of now using Breathers.

I'm thinking about this one:

Looks pretty decent...with shipping it would be right under $40.

A hollow catch can is not as effective at removing oil as one with a baffle system and/or a filtration system. A lot of lower cost (read hollow) catch cans work great on Honda's because Honda's generally don't pull much oil thru the PCV system.

The stock LS1 PCV system leaves a bit to be desired and tends to vary on the amount of oil it allows thru the system. In general, an LS1 will require a more effective catch can to reduce the amount of oil re-entering the intake manifold.

The motor in my bird was in bad shape when I bought it. Part of the damage was caused by oil entering the intake manifold.

couldn't you easly put baffles in there make like a sleeve, just take it apart make a 2 chamber for in and out with an open half way down the bottom with say flanges on both sides to make it chamber and baffled.
O-in/O-out
|-||-||-| <- outerwall
||_-|_-||
||_-|_-|| |_-|_-| <-chamber wall
||_oil _|| ^-baffles
|--||---|
0 - drain

Just find a used AMW one, thats always an option. OR, do the homemade idea. Thats another cheap possibility.
