Need some quick help with !AIR

I'm removing the AIR system from my 02 Z28. I'm taking the pump out now, but I noticed that there is also a hose that comes out of the pump that goes into the lid. Do I remove this also, and plug up the hole in the lid? I'm assuming that the lid is where the AIR system get's it's fresh air, and that is the intake hose on the pump, but I've never heard of this before. So.............do I just remove it and plug up the hole in the lid? Thanks.

when i ordered my lid from slp (98-99) they gave a a plastic plug for that hole, so u just need any thing for it
