Default FAST intake and Forced induction?

Has anybody done this? I can see where there would be a gain with NA motors just wondering what the return on investment would be under boost??

if you don't have it, you probably shouldn't get it...you can always turn up boost to compensate for not having it - it all depends on your setup tho

Anything that makes more power N/A by freeing up airflow will make it times the amount of boost you have.

For instance, if the FAST 90/90 gains you 20 rwhp NA, then it will gain you 40 rwhp at 1 bar of boost (14.7 psi). If you run 2 bar boost, the gain would be closer to 60 rwhp (provided you keep the intake air temps under control).

neaver heard it put like this.....was under the impression that the FI just crams everything in......not so picky about smoothe flow as compared to NA. I had a very respectable tuner tell me that heads are not as significant improvement on FI as NA for this very reason.

I was just wondering if anyone has actually done a before and after dyno for comparison sake.

Thanks guys

Your tuner just lost some respect in my book. The gains have been dyno proven for years...it's just that many choose to turn up the boost to make the power as opposed to making more power with the SAME boost. Remember, boost is a measurement of restriction into a motor. By eliminating restriction inside the engine, you eliminate some of the reasons you have boost. Now you can make more power with the same boost or the same power with a less boost. Of course, the best way would be to increase flow AND increase boost, LOL.

Thanks for the input....theoretically your argument makes sense to me. I was just looking for some hard #'s on the intake swap. I have seen the numbers for NA just nothing found regarding an FI setup.

I am only running 8 PSI so given an earlier post on this thread, I should realize just slightly better than an NA gain...

Baiscally, if a FAST 90/90 is worth 20 rwhp N/A, then it should be worth about 30 rwhp at 8 psi (since 8 psi is a little over 1/2 a bar of boost).
