Question LS1 Motorsports Lid
When I bought my car, it came with an aftermarket lid already installed. On it was a vinyl graphic reading "LS1 Motorsports".

A quick yahoo search gave me nothing. What is LS1 Motorsports, and is the lid decent? (I know, a lid is a lid is a lid, blah blah)

I have the same one. It's been a good lid. I think I've had it for 3 years or so and it's still in great shape.

There was a lid comparison write-up in GMHTP (Feb 04 I think) and the LS1 Motorsports lid did very well.

It is a good lid, but the company went under a while ago. I actually have one sitting in storage...it was a good lid, but I needed an 85mm lid for my particular setup.

Yeah It is one of the best lids out there. I think that the company is now know as Rapid Motorsports, cause now the service Mustangs and Vipers as well.

I don't think Rapid Motorsports has any affiliation with them at all...

I had the same LS1 Motorsports lid on my 2000 SS. I was very pleased with it's performance and fit/finish of the product.

What mm is the LS1 motorsports lid? Where is the 85mm measured at?

it will most lekely be the stock mm but you can check it by the opening at the back of the lid. stock is 78mm. if you have the stock throttle body it is the same mm., so you woudn't have to take it apart and measure.

That lid was also called the Direct Flo Lid. It always had a good rep for fit and finish.
