Default ac delco iridiums

I was just looking to find the ac delco iridium plugs and it says on the site "not to deviate from the .040 gap" I know the stock gap was .060 for the platinums, so does the fact that they are iridium make the gap that much different?
Thanks

I run the factory gapped iriduims for a Z-O6 in my camaro and have had very good luck with them making 458 rwhp and turning 7000+ Rpms The wider gap would produce a slightly hotter spark. I would think that anything short of 600RWHP N/A the iridums would be fine with the stock gap.

So are you saying that I should gap them at .060 or the .040 that the site says? The NGK Iridiums are also at .060. Is .040 a typo?
Thanks

I went to acdelco.com to look it up and it states right on the page "don't deviate from .040 gap"

That's what the web page says. Wonder what other makers of iridium plugs advise for gap?

NGK iridiums come pre-gapped the same as their copper, .059".
WTF, over? Wonder what is the difference between the two plugs? C5XSTASY, I assume you have actually measured the gap?

Absolutely. I had read the Delco website, also. Before I bought them I measured the gap. All eight were gapped at exactly .040.

So if I buy the delco's should I keep them gapped at .040? If I buy the NGK'S do I keep them at the gap they say? I also looked at Thunder Racing for the NGK'S and they come pre-gapped .050. WTF! My mods are on here and the plugs will be going in with the install of my headers. I won't be getting my car tuned right away or maybe not till I do a cam in the future. So any suggestions on the gap would be great.
Thanks

I guess I don't really understand the problem. Not all plugs from different manufacturers are built exactly the same, even if they use similar, or the same, materials. Gap what the manufacturer recommends for the particular application. They designed, built and tested the plug.
