What is the ol'e adage,,,
You get what you pay for... You don't want to skimp on these... I too have opted for Lanes True Duals... Matter of fact he is fabbing them up as we speak and i will have them by weeks end. Lane is a great guy to deal with... Good luck with your choice... just my .02 FWIW..

real genious here......way to support our sponsors......I guarentee you my TSP crap is flowing more cfm than your ingenious Flowmaster setup on your 14 sec. racecar. These companies put a lot of money, R&D, and name behind their product. please watch your words. They pay to have a website for you to say things like that.

How the **** do you clear the axle's with a 2.5" pipe? I went to 2 shops and theyre telling me theres no room to fit the pipes over the axles. I am going to a really good shop on monday, just curious how it is done? What has to be moved?

Most shops wont even want your buisness when it comes to TD on 4th gens. I called my muffler shop were i got my exhaust and 2 of my buddies got borla, and they said its not possible to do this on my car because of the tourqe arm?????? I said it can be done, ive seen pics and ppl with them, Then i askd about bullet mufflers and the guy said that they wont fit in there either, you need to find a good friend or a damn good shop to help you out.

I think they're just lazy. Several people on here have done them.
Here's one set up (this is what I think I am going to build):
I had a 3" dual exhaust on my 3rd gen and didn't have to do anything special.
I do see that BMR now carries a tubular upper PHR to help clear:
but I think this is more for Hpipes where the two exhausts come over the axle side by side. Im not sure if UMI, SPohn or any other manufacturers carry an upper PHR like this.

awesome.. one other question.. starting from my 3" lt headers If i go with a 2.5" Xpipe all the way back over the axle and all with 2.5" I will gain some more back pressure (compared to 3" all the way back) right?
I plan on using 2 XR-1's on the system as well

The muffler pictured is a custom made Bassani piece. They built a few of those for us a couple of years ago. Sounded awesome. That car had Macs - 2.5" to the muffler and 3" out. We've done them 3"(with LT's) to the muffler and 2.5" out as well.
I do not do these types of systems anymore though.
Just posting the pics to show what can be done and how.

I almost went with the TSP kit, but went with Lane's instead. I'm very glad I did too. Lane has jigs for different LT headers on which he builds each kit. They come fully welded with hangers and good band clamps for the headers (if you have slip fit collectors like Pacesetters), and they fit like a glove. I only lost at most an inch of clearance all around from my stock exhaust and never scrape. Plus, Lane uses the Dr. Gas X.
The TSP kit is a bolt on piece, but it's adjustable for different headers, and you have to really finagle it for good clearance. You'd honestly be better off going with the Summit universal X kit and having a muffler shop tweak it for you if needed if you don't go with Lane's setup.
