So y'all think cut outs will make my car sound like it didn't open headers? If so, where should i put the cut out(s). 2 on the Y-pipe near headers or 1 on I pipe?

sorry to hear about your problem, I dont know what to suggest about the sound problem other than the backwards muffler comment that was already mentioned. The power problem may be your computer. When I installed my LT's, it felt slow, but after about a week, I noticed the "lag" was gone and it seemed to pick up power across the whole rpm range. The computer just had to relearn itself. In your case, maybe driving around open headers freaked out your computer?? Just my $.02

These cars sound different whether you're running too rich or too lean. It just sounds like you're running lean.

Mine is in the I pipe. THere is a little area that is perfect for it and you won't lose any ground clearance

you said you used cats when you had the shorties on, are you using the same ones? could they be getting clogged? why dont you just grab a backpressure tester that will tell you if you actually have a problem or not.

After I installed my QTPs, with the Borla closed, I had less drone, and it was quieter, until WOT. Weird...

No cats. Header to Y-pipe to I-pipe to muff to tips.

??

Since when do long tubes quiet down an exhaust compared to stock manifolds.

My exhaust is definitely louder than before the long tubes. And I still have cats. (heads/cam are almost installed, should be done by noon tomorrow, so that isn't a factor..... yet).

It's gotta be in your head. Running open headers just made you deaf......

Seriously......

Sound/noise, just like everything else, is relative.

My car has been lowered 2" under stock.

About raspy: Open headers wasn't rasp, that was just plain noise. If that's rasp then hell, i love rasp.
