would 160 stat cause valves to tick louder?

it may just be me, but after my 160* stat it feels like the valves are ticking louder then normal. i have longtubes, no cats, and sweet thunders, so you hear everything. but the tick is louder. is it possible?

One thing I have noticed is that if you are using ?w-30 motor oil it will be louder than ?w-40 oil. Put a thicker oil in and it will quiet down the LSx engine. 30 oil gets real thin after it gets hot in these motors. Mobil 1 especially. Move to a 40 oil and you should see a difference in noise.

The 160* stat has nothing to do with the noise.

If what he is hearing is pistonslap, a 160' stat could make it worse. Running cooler the pistons may not expand as much as they used to. Just a thought.
