Your EGR recirculates exhaust gasses to reduce emissions. Make sure you search, as this is a very popular topic. Codes can be deleted at most dyno ships, a mail order tune, or a cutom tune from RWTD (sponsor). And this is not a flaming forum, tech only.

You can get the EGR codes deleted, no problem.

I just wrapped the connector with silicone shrink wrap and electrical tape.

No, you will have to use LS1 edit or another PCM program to get rid of the code. If the SES light doesn't bother you leave it alone. Removing the EGR and or AIR systems will not affect perfromance in any way. If I were you I would also think about removing the AIR system while doing the intake, but that's just me.

It is a piece of cake to get it taken off. If you get any kind of tune you they will remove it for you if they see that it is not there under the hood. It doesnt appear to affect performance in most cases. Just depends on who you talk to...plus it is Fugly looking.

i think i would just tape and hide it. never know if you or someone else might have to re-install it.

There are 3 or 4 EGR codes (I forget exactly) that have to be deleted.
