can you convert a ORY to a catted Y ?

can you convert a ORY to a catted Y ? I was wondering if you can convert a ORY to a catted Y? Has anyone tried this? I have SLP headers that came w/ the car (previous owner installed) and when I do my H/C swap I am going to throw them away (literally). I believe they are so worthless that I am not even going to try and sell them to anyone and just dump them. But I want to use the cats. Its the only part that is useful and worth anything. Reason for keeping them is that when I move to England next year I have to do MOT its some kind of insp anyway I think they make sure you have cats on the car. So I figure why not save some dough since I have the cats already and try to convert a ORY into a Catted Y. I am thinking about maybe Hookers or pacesetters something cheap until I can get back to the world and get nice stuff.
Some ORY pipes you may not be able to because the design of them is crimped in right where you need to put the cats (the crimps are to conform more to the shape of the underside of the car). I know that it wouldn't work well with my Pacesetter ORY.
like scotty-z said, many ORY's are just not worth converting, and many catted-y's are designed specifically around the cats.

Trust me it can look straight up nasty, I would know. I had a wanna be exhaust shop at home put my cats in my pacesetter y-pipe, and it looks nasty. It hangs down. It was the only thing the guy could do to fit the cats in. In my mind its not worth it. Just buy a catted y-pipe. Im going to jet hot lt's and the y-pipe because of it.

blue98ta, just pick up the TSP catted-y instead of getting all new headers and y-pipe. OR, i know a guy that can build you a GORGEOUS y-pipe for you if you are interested. if so let me know.

Either buy a new Y pipe that are made for cats or just go to a exhaust shop pick out a pair of cats and ask them to build you a y pipe that will fit the cats and fit under your car. Caution under the front seats of your car is a very important place, you want to make sure whatever you get that it does not hit the bottom part of the car. It will drive you nuts TRUST ME.

he is right but with the right cutting and re-welding at the correct angles it can be done. I know I could do it and I dont have an exhaust shop.
