when is your mufflex system going to get put on? I have the 4'' system sitting in my room right now, i plan on using it with mt turbo kit with a 4'' DP I cant wait. The main reason i want with it is because there werent many other 4'' systems out there, and i've also heard it sounds great. I wanted something quiet aswell, so let me know how you like it!

sorry it took so long but I have finally installed the mufflex so I will give you my .02 about both exhausts, BTW both of the systems were installed on a heads/cam(F13-112) with LT's, Mufflex ORY.
The 4" Mufflex has a single inlet/single outlet Spintech muffler, this exhaust is definitely deeper then the GMMG, more bass then the GMMG, I can definitely feel the difference up top with the Mufflex. I put about 75 miles on it last night and didn't notice that much rasp at all, I believe that it's a little quieter then the GMMG, the drone isn't as bad as the GMMG. These exhaust are 2 totally difference beasts, the GMMG has a more high pitch raspy type sound, sounds a cutout, only better. Personally, I like the Mufflex more because it has a deeper tone, you can almost feel it in your chest when your standing behind the car. Sorry guys, don't have any sound clips, don't have the equitment, although you should hear it...

I have to say that at WOT, it sounds great, inside and outside. I don't have any dyno #'s yet, but when I am able to get them I will post them. I haven't heard a Mufflex in person, so I can't really comment on it. I recently heard a Borla cat-back, and at idle, it was the best I've heard yet. WOT was a little raspy for my taste, but not bad.

Well, I can see by your sig that you have LT's - but do you have an aftermarket Y-Pipe & have you removed your cats?
Because if you still have your cats - then that's why the Borla still sounds OK. My Borla sounded fine until I removed the cats - then it had an awful rasp that sounded like a cross between a Ferarri and a weedwhacker
I sold the Borla to my buddy who still has the stock exhaust manifolds, y-pipe and cats and it sounds fine on his car.
I replaced the Borla with the GMMG and the exhaust is deeper at idle than it ever was with the Borla and sounds 100% better thru the entire RPM range. After going thru both a Corsa and Borla - I will be staying with the GMMG till the end. I get nothing but compliments all the time on the sound of the exhaust using the GMMG - never did with either the Corsa or Borla...

With stock manifolds and cats, it's a decent sounding catback, But after you remove the cats add headers and other mods, no thanks.

I have the SLP 3" y and RT cats. I was thinking about staying w/ the cats, not a big deal for me. But I can understand thatt he Borla has a rasp. I hear it w/ the cats, but it's kind of a nice suttle rasp to it. When I hear it I know it's getting loud outside the car!
I'll have to hear a GMMG in person.

Mufflex gets my vote!
Hi MONSTERZ28,
This is from the spintech site.
http://www.spintechmufflers.com/spin...ntechindex.asp
CAMARO 98-02 V8 3 inch 3 inch Cat-back with dual 3 inch tail pipes 131398 $399.95
http://www.spintechmufflers.com/spin...ntechindex.asp
344SC 3 inch 3 Inch Dual both ends 4 x 10 x 15 $ 122.50
354SC 3 1/2 Inch 3 Inch Dual both ends 5 x 11 x 17 $ 164.50
364SC 4 Inch 3 Inch Dual both ends 5 x 11 x 17 $ 164.50
If you have the flowmaster catback, you can just have the muffler replaced with the 344SC listed above. That's what I did;and it sounds better and louder than the flowmaster muffler and clearly flows better.
I'm also sure you can get a custom system from mufflex with the muffler of your choice. For probably no more or less then the GMMG costs.

Soo.....We all agree to disagree!
Picking a cat-back is like picking new music to listen to.You"ll never know for sure if you like the way it sounds until you hear it your self. And everybody seems to have different taste in music!
But...We all agree we love good music to our ears.

I have the GMMG and personally LOVE it..... of course being that my family has always has an array of 1st, 2nd gen. Camaros, Novas, and Chevelles, I've become quite accustomed to the "muscle car" sound! I have also recieved quit a few compliments for my exhaust selection (in sig) from local F-body owners. I like the sound of Magnaflow, and True Duals as well. To me it depends on your taste and the "personality" you want your car to percieve. What sounds like complete crap to you could someone else's dream come true.
"Straight pipe ****" is a little harsh don't ya think. I have a friend of mine that has a straight pipe exhaust and beileve me, if you compare the GMMG to that than you must have never heard an actual straight pipe exhaust.......

I have LTs, ORY, and GMMG and personally i think its the best sound i've ever heard on an LS1. definitely not quiet by any means, but sounds damn good. sounds like a muscle car should!

i love the gmmgs if you like the sound of the chambered muffler and don't want to come out of the back pocket the sweet thunders sound very similar Bruce at hawks we are close and he loves the mufflex but i just think it sounds a little hollowed out but really it's if you like a snarl or growl sound (gmmg)or an echo sound(mufflex)
