Cats. Otherwise its going to raspy as hell... who knows you may like the way it sounds afterwards with an ORY...most people dont though.

www.LS1Sounds.com has some sound clips that will help you out with your decision.

Get the catted Y. I have adjustable borla, pacesetters and tsp catted y and I love the sound. Especially with a TR 224 cam!

I have LT's into ORY and Borla. I love the sound of it, got rid of my true duals for it. Try it and see if you like it. Its all personal preference.

It sounds badass. Anyone who tells you it sounds like **** is just jealous. Plus, if you want to tone it down a little, just one of the plates in it with the desired sized hole.

Borla catback on a catless ls1fbod sounds like a dumptruck- but that's simply my opinion- it's all subjective.

I have the pacesetter longtubes and ORY with the borla wide open, i have to admit it isnt as raspy as i assumed, but its not the greatest sound either, but i can deal with it until i buy either a corsa or gmmg catback. But its definitely loud, and u will def make little kids cry with this setup as it scares EVERYONE..lol..j/k but its does sound pretty damn good.

Jealous?? I was so jealous that I took the whole catback off and bought a Hooker. Borla + ORY sounds terrible, it has no tone, only rasp. After you put cam and heads on, it only gets worse. And as far as the "toning it down with plates" thing, that doesnt work. I was embarassed to drive my car around. The smallest hole sounds identical to no plate at all. Same thing if you have an electric cutout @ the plate. As soon as you nudge it open the slightest bit, the rasp starts coming out the right tip And as far as having a closed plate it in it, I dont see the point of having all my exhaust going out of one tip on my DUAL exhaust in order for it to sound decent.

IMO, that sound is pure rasp. It has no tone or anything, simple hissing and sharp noise.

When it comes to running LT's with a borla catback the only way it will sound good is if you run a catted y-pipe.

been there, done that. extremely loud inside the car. even with the small open plate. it's great if you want loud. but, if you want more performance over loud, do what i did. get the bassani tru-duals. here's the dyno comparing the two. both runs were without cats as well.

I've heard a few (keyword is few) sound ok with an ORY pipe, but I've heard way too many sound like ****...obnoxious **** at that. It's all what you want. I like my Corsa with my ORY pipe, some don't. What type of sound are you looking for? If you're that concerned, get the headers/ory (good power gain), and sell the Borla, it will sell for decent cash.
