Placing little spring on Y-pipe?

I remember seeing a thread of someone that placed a small spring in the area between their driver side Y pipe and the frame. My Y-pipe keeps on rattling by the drivers side as it touches the frame right under the drivers seat, close to were the crossmember is. I know a spring would stop that. Anyone know about what I'm talking about? Thanks

Yup, you weld a valve spring where it's hitting and it keeps it from banging. You can put some foam rubber in there too it you want to get psyco

Shove a piece of rigid foam insulation (yes, the kind that goes in walls) in there. Call it a day (learned technique via a reputable exhaust guy who likes to fix things the simple way- if your car isn't in car shows with mirrors underneath- who is going to know?).

Use the kind that has metallic foil outer layer.

wedge a piece of wood or a pry bar between the pipe and the floor/frame and jack up the rear of the pipe to twist or tweak the pipe. This will give you the clearance you need, I had to do this with my Jet hot Y pipe. Also if one side hanges lower than the other you do the same by wedging a piece of wood between the tight side and jacking up the low side to twist it. This will close up the loose side while opening up the tight side a little. If you use a pry bar be sure to wrap it with a peice of card board or something to keep it from scratching the pipe or the coating.

My Jet hot was right against the floor and this fixed it with no damage at all on the first try.
