Exclamation Anybody Considering an Optima Battery...
If you someday plan to run an Optima Battery and you can still find one, buy one now.

An Industry Insider tells me that the company is on it's way out. They're claiming a "backorder until 2006" right now. Expect the official announcement in Mid-December.

I bought mine last week.

yup got me one also when the AC Delco factory one quit, its a great battery and it wont let you down, in terms of charging and Volts.

My Optima Red Top is perfection, it's even a hair lighter than the Delco or Diehard.

What makes them so much better than your standard battery like Diehard or Interstate (barring aftermarket stereo systems)?

red top here , have had it for 6 years. no problems ......but i think i see it leaking at the top( dealer must have overtighten it) but works great. About to get a new 1 but i might go to the smaller red top so it will fit better dont know

is there any decent alternatives? i love my red top, although i might get a yellow soon for the T/A. they sure cost enough

i dont know why they are ton the way out because optima is just a name

there is only a few battery manufacturers

ac delco
johnson controls
interstate

maybe 1 or 2 more

it has a good warranty

i think its more durable than others since its gel cell and less prone to spillage and vibration

it has side mount and to post

it has good power and reserve

it looks cool
