Default What kind of muffler to put in I-pipe??

I loved the sound of my setup before one of my cats decided to gut itself, now it sounds like ****. What kind of muffler can I put in the I-pipe that will quiet my exhaust down A LOT and still flow good? I had no rasp at all before and I'd like it to sound the way it did with cats. Is everyone still using the dynomax bullet or borla xr-1, or is their something better out there? Thanks for the help guys.

A bullet will clean up the raspy sound your exhaust makes. Many people now are using either a bullet or an XR1. Another possibility would be a Magnapack muffler from Magnaflow.

I had the same problem with the hooker catback on my car. After daily driving the car day in and day out all summer the drone inside the car with the longtubes, ory, and hooker catback combined with a 4400 convertor took its toll on my head on longer drives.

I searched around on here alot and found that the consensus was that a dynomax bullet would reduce the volume of your exhaust by 20-30% and the borla xr-1 round muffler would reduce it from 30-40%. I went with the xr-1 muffler and really liked how the car sounded with it. No rasp, just nice tone of the hooker toned down a bit and it killed the interior drone as well so highway driving around 2500 rpms was MUCH better.

I recently acquired a beater and decided I missed the loudness of the car since I'm not driving it as much now. I paid around $130 shipped for the xr-1 from summit, if you decide on this one I'll let it go for $100 shipped. Let me know if you're interested, it's boxed up ready to ship.

I, too, went with the Borla XR-1 in the i-pipe of my GMMG exhaust...it toned down the rasp from my Kooks ORY, but didn't eliminate it.

Thanks for the responses guys. KEVS98LS1, what kind of resonator did you use, I was thinking about just trying one of SLP's for their LM II.
