Default Quick Question On Throttle Bodies...

i am getting ready to buy a new throttle body, preferably a 90mm. will this fit on an ls6 intake or does it only fit on the 90mm intake. basically, does a larger mm throttle body fit on an ls6 intake? also, if i install a new throttle body, do i have to get a tune? thanks!!

a 90mm throttle body is a waste of money on the LS6 intake. The ls6 intake can not be ported, and therefore the opening on the front of the intake is a permanent fixed size. The best thing to do for a LS6 intake, is get a ported TB from shaner, Bo-white, Bauer, or Jantzer ... (i think those are all the guys that port them) and you will see very nice gains from the ported/polished TB. The larger opening is unnecessary b/c of the reason I explained above.

just port your stocker. You'll notice a differnce, plus its far more cost effective than buying the FAST setup. That is unless you plan on going all out on the build. You'll be fine without a tune on the TB.

Another guy you might want to look into is Cammin_BeaSSt. Hes a longtime board member. He ported my TB and did a nice job of it for a very reasonable price.

Edit: Wow, thats big, how do I resize that?

Ya listen to what they are telling you. DON'T buy a fast unless you are going BIG. Like big heads and cam or bigger motor.

A ported TB will do you fine. I have had 2. The one I have now was done by BO-White, he even ported my TNT F1 ring with it.

Save your money and get yours ported.

Do a search on ported throttle bodies and look at the websites of the porting vendors. Time taken and prices are all different.
