Default Stumped on what to do for exhaust....

Hello. I am going to be starting my bolt ons here soon. I plan on finishing exhaust along with trans and what not too. My question..... I have borla catback right now.... im getting Pacesetter LTs. Now....i was wanting to swap out the borla and get a TD set up. However with me being lowered, i will have trouble with duals. I dont have the money to get them fabbed to the bumper and really want to keep my tips and not much interior rattle/drone. However i know Borla sounds horrible with LTs and no cats. I could get LTs, ORY, keep my borla and get an elec cutout..... Any other suggestions besides duals? Thanks

you could always just put a resinator in there before the muffler that would help with the noise buying a all new catback is expensive

Yes you could run into trouble with the duals on a lowered car. Borla and LT's and ORY is going to rasp like mad. You may want to just sell the borla and get a magnaflow/hooker to keep the rasp down. Then throw on an electric cutout for the loudness factor.

Yeah it does good...I think mine is quite as hell though, even with an ORY. I have the stock manifolds/cats on right now cause I needed to pass emissions and its not that much louder than when I had the ORY and LT's

My TD's tuck nice enough that I wouldn't worry about scraping. I am lowered 1/2" and they are still higher than the stock Y-pipe.

Keep the Borla! ALL catbacks I've heard rasp some with LT's/no cats. I got Macs w/no cats and a Borla. Screams like hell pened up and fully closed its almost as quiet as stock. Doesn't rasp closed up though. 4 catbacks in one!

Great thing about borla is that it has a cutout built in. Throw a bullet or spiral flow in the i pipe and call it good. With the cutout open it would sound nice and loud.

My car is lowered about 1 1/2 inches and I've had 3" duals with very minimal clearance issues. It all depend who installs them or where you get them from.

Good luck with this i've had way too many setups and still can't make up my mind

Default exhaust

I run hooker LT's, ory, and the big borla cat back w/ the adjustable cutout open, I get plenty of props on the sound, nice idle, screams when gettin on it, not like duals, but the borla is to nice to get rid off right now.

My buddy had LTs with ORY and a borla and I personally think it sounded pretty bad ***. I'm definatly a fan of a nice sounding but loud exhaust and it sounded nice.

Aren't you planning on getting a turbo? If so, then why are you even spending money on LTs? Just a thought...

I think he's planning on a STS kit in which LTs wouldn't be a problem but obiviously a cut-out would be. I plan on turbo with an STS in the future but since my bidget is limited I plan full bolt-ons with a cam until I can afford it so I have some power. I'd say go for it and keep you borla, if you don't like it then maybe you can find someone to trade you down the road.
