Throttle body bypass?????

Just a question im pretty new to the ls1 world and have a question i read a little something about the throttle body bypass. This seems to make scense but it sounds to easy and to inexpensive to be true and worse than it sounding to easy i havent heard anyone mention or talk about it in a single thread. I was just looking for some info or a opinion it this is a BU*^ $%!^ modification any help would be great thanks guys. Toby

Every little bit helps type of mod. You wont see/feel results in driving, but dyno's show it helps.
It's a PITA to get the hose off the drivers side, but not a very difficult mod to do. Kits sell on ebay around 8-12$ or you can buy the parts at someplace like Home Depot. In fact, when you do get the kit, you'll kick yourself for not saving 90% of what you spent.

I've never really understood how this mod could really do anything. I would think that at the flowrate air is passing through the throttle body, it wouldn't be in there long enough to heat up, especially at higher rpms. Could be wrong, though.

i didn't do it for power, i did it to make things easier. removing the TB takes a min now. also, the FAST im puttin on has no coolant crossover. i do know that my TB is alot cooler now, i can touch it anytime.

ouch, that would be wild. ^^ TB bypass is well worth it i think, all those little free mods add up in the end. while your at it might as well do the EGR mod, if your car still has that option.
