Default poll: which pacesetter header set-up

I've got an auto 99 t/a that I am itching to get a set of LT headers put on, but I can't for the life of me make up my mind on which set-up to purchase. Here are the choices that I have narrowed it down to:

Pacesetter LT coated emission headers and catted y pipe

Pacesetter LT coated emission headers and off road y pipe

Pacesetter LT coated race headers and off road y pipe

Pacesetter LT coated race headers and a custom dual system (no cats)

Pacesetter LT coated emision headers and a custom true dual system (cats)

My plans within the next 2-6 months are to also get a torque convertor and a medium cam (224 or so).

I live in Eugene, Oregon where there is currently not any emissions testing required.

I currently have a lid, cat back, some free mods, HPP3, 180 thermo.

Any advice will be appreciated

Get the coated race headers and a true dual setup with no cats. And then delete the codes with your HPP3.

LTs and true duals!!! the cats are more expensive, and they are worse for performance and gas mileage. Don't get them unless you need to. As for coated, I'd get stainless but that's just cause I need them to last for the cars lifetime and I live about 20 miles away from the ocean.

I said to get the race pace setters with an ORY, just because if you you do that and get a cut-out it will be much cheaper than true duals. However true duals do sound nice, id just rather save money and get a cut-out with stock exhaust, thats what id do if i could do it all over again.

I would go with the coated pacesetters but I would look into QTP's duel cutout y.

Default pace headers

I did a bunch more research and went ahead and ordered the race headers with the ORY. I got anxious and wanted to install the headers during the long thanksgiving weekend.

I may also install a cutout as I have the dreaded flowmaster cat back.

Thanks for all your help/comments

I was gonna tell you to stay away from the emmision headers. I had one blow out an air tube in about 8 months. They replaced it under warranty but i still had to remove it. I had them replaced with race headers and deleted air and egr. Sure made plug wires and plugs a lot easier to work and i don't have to worry about the blowouts anymore.

Depends on where you live. If you're in CALI, you're definitely going to want to go with emissions (they can seize your vehicle for running an illegal exhaust). If you are in a state that doesn't require emissions, I would go with the LT coated race headers and a custom dual exhaust.

Go for the coated race headers and true duals. I got the emmissions headers just in case I ever get transfered out to Cali but its not worth the hassle. Changing the #4 spark plug would be so much easier without that flange in the way. Plus they just look better with no emmissions fittings. Also, the duals make really good power, sound good and come off easy as hell when you need to work on stuff.

You can't delete codes with a HPPIII.

I see you went for the non emissions and ory setup, that's what I voted for. Sell that HPPIII and use the money for a "real" tune.
